Prior to joining Ascendant Capital Partners, Eric Calder was the Co-Chief Investment Officer of Dune Real Estate Partners, a New York City-based real estate investment firm. At Dune, he was a member of the firm’s Investment Committee and led over $6 billion in transactions across the residential, retail, industrial, office and hospitality sectors.

Matthew Werner
Vice President, Strategic Operations

Matthew Werner, Vice President of Strategic Operations, is responsible for day-to-day hospitality operations and business plan execution across Ascendant's growing portfolio of owned hotels.

Prior to joining Ascendant Capital Partners, Matthew was CFO of Trailborn, a leading brand and operator in iconic outdoor destinations. During his time at Trailborn Matthew spearheaded the Trailborn/Marriott partnership.

Before joining Trailborn, Matthew was an Assistant Vice President at hotelAVE, a leading independent hospitality and real estate investment manager. In his time at hotelAVE, Matthew focused on the direct asset management of both branded and non-branded hotels.

Matthew is a graduate of the University of Michigan and received an MBA from the Zicklin School of Business.
